Cascade Shifters Books in Order

Cascade Shifters focuses on cougar and wolf shifter clans, with human politics pressing in from the outside. Compared with Donovan's dragon books, this series is a little more compact, but it still uses the pieces readers expect from paranormal romance: clan duty, mating bonds, old wounds, prejudice, and danger from people who would rather shifters stay controlled.

The series starts before the official first full book with Convincing the Cougar. Kian Murray, leader of a cougar clan, believes an injury has made him weaker and less fit to lead. Trinity Perez-Murray refuses to accept his retreat. Their story sets up a running concern for the series: strength is not just physical, and leadership can break a person if they think they have to carry everything alone.

Then the wolves enter the picture.

Reclaiming the Wolf follows Kaya Alexie, a female wolf-shifter leader facing a virus that threatens her people. Her ex, cougar-shifter Sylas Murray, arrives with a dead wolf and a past neither of them has resolved. The romance is tangled with clan survival, which gives the book a sharper, more urgent feel.

The later stories bring humans further into the shifter world. Cougar's First Christmas uses a holiday mating plan, a car crash, and an anti-shifter group to test Sean Fisher and Lauren Spencer. Resisting the Cougar follows Claire Davis, who campaigns for shifter-human marriage rights, and Aidan Scott, the widowed sentry assigned to protect her.

Cascade Shifters is a good fit for readers who like Donovan's communities but want a shorter shifter series with political edges. The books ask how shifters can build families and claim rights in a world that fears them, and they keep the focus close to couples who have to choose courage before they can choose each other.
