Dog Days is a young adult paranormal series about grief, first love, old curses, and a Texas town with far more secrets than it first appears to have. The story begins when Eloise, known as Lou, moves from California to Poisonfoot, Texas, after her father's death leaves her family with few options.

Lou expects a hard adjustment. She does not expect strange dreams, ghostly hints, or a town where nearly everyone tells her to stay away from Cooper Reynolds without explaining why. Cooper is kind, isolated, and carrying a terrible family burden: the boys in his family are cursed to turn into coyotes when they reach adulthood.

Autumn brings Lou and Cooper together as they begin to investigate the curse and the tragedy behind it. Their connection gives the series its emotional center, but the mystery reaches beyond one family. Poisonfoot has a long memory, and people who know the truth have spent years avoiding it.

The four books, Autumn, Winter, Spring, and Summer, follow the couple through a story designed to be read in sequence. Each installment moves the curse, the romance, and the town's secrets forward. Lou has to find her footing in a new home while deciding who deserves her trust. Cooper has to face a deadline he cannot ignore.

The tone is teen-focused and emotional, with supernatural danger alongside school life, family pressures, friendship, and romance. It is a story about two young people who are not given much control over their futures but refuse to stop looking for a way through.
