Series background & context
Death Gate Grim Reapers is set in the same larger supernatural world as Aisling Grimlock, but it introduces a new lead. Izzy Sage is half-reaper and half-Bruja, and a tragedy in childhood changed the course of her life.
Izzy wants to return to Detroit, the place connected to the loss of her parents. Her first day on the job is not a gentle homecoming. A rogue wraith and a man with a familiar surname make it clear that old history and new danger are waiting for her.
Detroit has its own ghosts.
The series combines paranormal action with family connections, romantic tension, and an ongoing mystery about Izzy's past. Reapers, wraiths, and magical threats drive the external plot, while the Grimlock family's presence ties the books back to the earlier series.
Start with Only the Lonely. Readers can follow Izzy's story without having read every Aisling Grimlock book, but knowing the Grimlocks adds extra context and fun. The main novels should be read in order because the threat, relationships, and revelations continue from one installment to the next.
