Crowned by Hate

by Amo Jones

2018

Born to the sitting president, she was raised in privilege but craved anonymity. Being forced to marry Bryant Saint Royal, a man whose smile hides unspeakable things, drags her into a twisted marriage of convenience where power games, lies, and buried memories rule everything.

Series background & context

Crowned is a two book duet that takes Amo Jones’s brand of mind bending romance out of prep schools and into the world of high politics. The heroine is the daughter of the sitting president of the United States, a woman born into money, scrutiny, and a family that hides more than it shows. She has never wanted the designer gowns and staged photo ops that come with her last name, and least of all the marriage her father arranges for her.

In Crowned by Hate, that marriage is the trap that snaps shut. She is promised to Bryant Saint Royal, a man with enough power to make even her father nervous and a reputation that reads more monster than suitor. On paper he is the perfect political match, but every interaction feels like a game she does not know the rules of. The book peels back layers of childhood trauma, hidden identities, and the way love can feel indistinguishable from manipulation when the person holding your heart also holds your freedom.

Crowned by Fate picks up where the first book’s jaw dropping ending leaves off. Now the lies are on the table and both characters are forced to decide what, if anything, is real between them. The story leans hard into psychological warfare, twisting timelines and perceptions so that the reader never quite knows what is memory, what is conditioning, and what is actually happening. It is less about a tidy happily ever after and more about seeing how far two people can be pushed before they break.

As a whole, the Crowned duet is one of the most unrestrained corners of Jones’s Amoverse. It is rich with unreliable narration, morally bankrupt side characters, and a heroine who keeps trying to reclaim her own narrative in a world that insists on writing it for her. You do not need to have read the Elite Kings books to follow it, but fans will spot familiar names and echoes, and the duet fits neatly beside her other stories about power, control, and what people will do when they realise they have been sold.
