Series background & context

Elite Kings Club is the core of Amo Jones’s modern gothic universe, a series about a secret society of heirs who rule their prep school as ruthlessly as their families rule the outside world. The main gateway is Riverside Preparatory Academy in the Hamptons, where money and power insulate the Kings from consequences and where new students quickly learn that some corridors are not meant for them.

The opening trilogy, starting with The Silver Swan, follows Madison Montgomery, a girl with a ruined family name and a father who drops her into Riverside in search of a clean slate. Instead she collides with Bishop Vincent Hayes and the rest of the Kings, ten boys who carry old bloodlines, lethal secrets, and an obsession with Madison that never quite makes sense to her. The Broken Puppet and Tacet a Mortuis push that relationship through betrayal, unravelled memories, and the slow reveal of what the Kings have really been trained for.

The focus then tilts to Nate Riverside Malum and Tillie Stuprum in the Malum duet. Tillie grows up on the wrong side of town, only to be dragged into the Kings’ orbit and forced to navigate their rituals, hierarchies, and revenge games. Her story takes the wild, sometimes surreal world building of the first books and shows what it looks like from the outside, through the eyes of a girl who was never supposed to survive it.

With Sancte Diaboli Parts One and Two, the series leans harder into gothic romance. Saint has been locked away in Brantley King’s manor since childhood, raised for him and by him, half captive and half cherished. Their duet explores the kind of bond that feels more like a curse than a blessing, especially once Saint is pushed out of the house and into the broader web of the Elite Kings. It is claustrophobic, strangely tender, and brutally violent all at once.

Ruined Castles acts as both epilogue and open wound, returning to Madison after years of fallout. Written as a sort of confessional letter, it lets her look back on the choices that destroyed and remade her, as well as the man she can never quite leave behind. Long time readers get answers to open questions and a final emotional punch after the smoke of the main storyline has cleared.

Throughout Elite Kings Club you can expect elaborate conspiracies, secret societies that really do control far more than a single school, and relationships that blur the line between devotion and destruction. The tone is rich kid horror with a romance spine, full of puzzles, coded notes, and a steady drip of reveals. Reading in order matters, because the books build not only one couple at a time, but an entire mythos that spills over into Midnight Mayhem, Carpe Noctem, and beyond.
