Series background & context

Court of Isles is a fantasy romance series set in the same magical world as Gina LaManna's Magic & Mixology books. It follows Alessia, or Allie, Wells, a doctor and woman of science who has no reason to believe that magic, vampires, werewolves, or fae are real.

Then she is taken from her wedding by a mysterious man and carried to a magical island.

In Cursed, Allie learns that the Fae were believed extinct, yet she is the last full-blooded Fae alive. The island is trapped under a deadly curse, and the people living there need her help. Allie has to accept a heritage she never knew existed while deciding whether this strange new place can become home.

The series has a larger fantasy scale than LaManna's paranormal mysteries. Magic, court responsibilities, dangerous enemies, ancient history, and romantic tension all matter. Still, Allie's practical, skeptical viewpoint keeps the story grounded. She did not ask to be important to an island's future, and she has to grow into the role.

In Crowned, Allie becomes the first Fae Queen in centuries. Her new title comes with power she cannot yet fully control and attacks that threaten the island. Claimed brings the conflict toward a showdown as Allie faces an enemy determined to destroy the life and court she has built.

A crown does not make the job easier.

The continuing story is essential here, so read the trilogy in order: Cursed, Crowned, then Claimed. The character relationships, Allie's magic, and the danger facing the island build directly from book to book.

This series is for readers who enjoy a reluctant heroine, a magical island, court politics kept at an accessible pace, and a romance that grows alongside a fight to protect a newly found home.
