The Complicated Parts books are really one long love story split across three installments. If you like clean arcs and emotionally sensible people, this is probably not that series. The final book is about broken trust, attempted repair, and the ugly work of choosing someone after both people have already done real damage. Preston has to stop treating risk like a personality. Kit has to decide what love is supposed to look like when it is not built on fantasy.

The tone across all three books is high angst, sharp banter, and emotionally messy new adult romance. Ashley Jade keeps the focus tight on the same pair, so every lie, fight, and soft moment matters more than it would in a looser interconnected series. Expect big feelings, flawed choices, and a relationship that gets pushed to the edge more than once.

If that setup works for you, reading the trilogy in order really matters. The whole point of Complicated Parts is watching every ugly, tender, frustrating piece pile up until the relationship either breaks for good or finally holds.
