Hooked On You shifts to Violet and team captain Bren St. James, whose recovery, daughters, and damaged reputation give that romance extra weight. Then Wrapped Up in You checks back in with Dante and Cade, turning their earlier happy ending into something sturdier and more lived-in.

What makes the series work is the blend of boardroom tension and locker-room energy. You get the front office, the public image fights, the pressure of a bad season, and the plain fact that professional sports are a man's world the sisters have to storm rather than gently enter. At the same time, Meader never lets the hockey overwhelm the relationships. The books are about legacy, sibling resentment, old wounds, and the question of what you owe a family or a team that has already disappointed you.

The tone is high-energy and sexy, but there is a lot of heart under the swagger. If you read in order, the payoff is better because the team's progress and the sisters' relationship build across the books. Still, each romance stands on its own. Think of Chicago Rebels as part sports series, part family repair job, and part extended argument between smart women and the men brave enough to fall for them.
