Changeling Books in Order

Changeling is Steve Feasey's supernatural adventure series about Trey Laporte, a London teenager whose life changes overnight when he learns he is not just different, he is the last hereditary werewolf. The opening book starts with pain, confusion, and a trashed bedroom, then quickly widens into a hidden world of vampires, demons, sorcerers, and djinn living just out of sight of everyday life.

Trey does not get much time to ease into any of it.

He is drawn into the orbit of Lucien Charron, a powerful vampire who becomes protector, mentor, and keeper of many secrets. Lucien's daughter Alexa is just as important to the series. She is clever, dangerous, and not fully human herself, which gives the books one of their strongest relationships. Much of the emotional pull comes from watching Trey figure out who he can trust while also trying to understand what he is becoming.

The main enemy running through the series is Caliban, Lucien's vicious brother, a vampire who wants Trey dead and is willing to tear holes between worlds to get what he wants. That long fight gives each book a different shape. Changeling is part origin story and part hunt. Dark Moon pushes Trey and Alexa into the Netherworld on a rescue mission. Blood Wolf widens the werewolf side of the myth. Demon Games traps Trey in brutal demon contests. Zombie Dawn raises the stakes again, with London facing outright catastrophe.

The mood is dark, but the storytelling moves fast.

These books use classic horror creatures, but they read more like action-heavy fantasy than slow, gothic horror. Feasey keeps the chapters sharp and the pressure high, and he likes putting his characters in situations where instinct, loyalty, and fear are all pulling in different directions. Trey is always dealing with more than monsters. He is learning how to control power, how to live with violence, and how to decide whether being different makes him dangerous, special, or both.

That mix is what gives the series its staying power. You get secret worlds, monster politics, demon realms, and a lot of close calls, but you also get a very YA story about identity and belonging. If you want werewolves and vampires with a modern setting, a found-family core, and a clear story arc that builds across all five books, Changeling is an easy series to settle into.
