The Broken picks up after Jimmy’s death, with twenty-year-old Nancy stepping into her father’s shoes as head of the Byrne empire. Overnight she is dealing with drug money, sex work and rival gangs while trying to hold together a family that is already fraying at the edges. Her beloved grandmother Joanie is falling apart, her brother Daniel is spiralling, and rumours swirl that someone is determined to silence Nancy before she can take full control.

By The Forgotten, Nancy has a young daughter, Scarlett, and is determined to give the little girl a better start than she ever had. She is still running the Byrne operation, but motherhood has shifted her priorities, and she tries to keep business and family separate. When Scarlett is abducted from a local park, the old rules no longer apply, and Nancy has to decide what kind of leader, and what kind of mother, she is willing to be.

Across the trilogy, Casey Kelleher leans into classic gangland territory, with street deals gone wrong, dangerous rivals and the constant threat of betrayal. The books are as much about women as they are about crime, shining a light on wives, daughters and grandmothers who are expected to stay loyal no matter the cost.

Readers can expect a dark, fast moving story that spans years, moving from smoky Soho clubs to family homes that never quite feel safe.
