Series background & context
My Best Friend's Mardi Gras Wedding opens the original Boys of the Bayou run, and it really sets the tone. These are Louisiana small-town romances built around the sprawling Landry family, old friendships, weddings that go sideways, and a community that is never going to mind its own business.
Autre matters as much as any single character here. The bayou, the food, the family traditions, and the nonstop meddling all keep the books linked together. Each romance follows a different couple, but the series works best when read in order because the relatives, jokes, and emotional payoffs build from book to book. If you want warm family-centered rom-coms with Cajun flavor, this is one of Nicholas's best entry points. The books are funny and sexy, but they also care about belonging, home, and the weirdly powerful grip of people who have known you forever.
