Series background & context

The Blindfold Club is Nikki Sloane's connected contemporary erotic-romance series, centered on an exclusive and illegal club in Chicago. At the club, blindfolded women negotiate encounters with wealthy clients, and the rules are meant to keep identity, money, desire, and emotion in separate boxes.

Of course, the people involved are not very good at keeping those boxes closed.

The series begins with It Takes Two, a short prequel about an unexpected adult-film audition. Three Simple Rules then introduces Evelyn, who takes work at the club to protect her career, and Logan, the man who pays for a night with her. Their arrangement is supposed to have boundaries, but the attraction between them asks more of both characters than either planned to give.

Every main novel turns toward another couple connected to the club. Three Hard Lessons follows Payton, who is used to setting the terms with clients until Dominic makes her reconsider the rules she lives by. In Three Little Mistakes, Joseph, the powerful man who runs the club's world of pleasure, becomes involved with Noemi, a shy woman who challenges his control. Three Dirty Secrets focuses on Regan, a woman with a painful past, and Silas, the artist whose work brings her secrets dangerously close to the surface.

The series makes room for different relationship structures and desires, including BDSM and ménage. The books are frank about sex, but the ongoing emotional engine is consent, trust, and the struggle to reveal something real when the setting itself is designed around anonymity. Characters may begin with an agreement or a fantasy, then discover that the harder part is saying what they want when there is a real chance of being hurt.

The club is the connecting thread.

Later stories widen the circle. Three Sweet Nothings is a second-chance romance about a former couple trying to keep love out of a new arrangement. Three Guilty Pleasures follows dancer Tara and musician and rugby player Grant as secrets and old rules complicate their connection. Beneath The Blindfold collects shorter returns to the world, including stories involving familiar couples and club owner Julius.

Most full-length novels can be read as individual romances, but the reading order is worthwhile. It lets readers see friendships, private deals, and past decisions carry forward. Start with It Takes Two if you want the prequel, then move to Three Simple Rules for the proper beginning of the club's larger story.
