Series background & context

The Bullet Catcher series is one of Roxanne St Claire’s purest romantic suspense setups. The books follow a team of elite security specialists and bodyguards whose jobs regularly put them between danger and the people they are trying to protect. That gives the series a built-in engine, every book begins with risk, pressure, and a reason for two strong-willed people to be thrown together fast.

Lucy Sharpe sits at the center of the larger story as the tough, driven owner of the Bullet Catchers. Around her is a rotating team of operatives, former cops, agents, soldiers, and specialists who get handed assignments that rarely stay simple for long.

Each novel works as its own romance and its own case. One book might involve a stalker, another a suspicious death, a missing child, a black-market adoption, a serial predator, or stolen gems from a sunken ship. The settings jump from Miami and Key West to the Caribbean and beyond, which keeps the series moving and gives it a slick, globe-hopping feel without losing its emotional center.

What links the books is the balance of danger and desire. These heroes are trained to stay sharp under pressure, but the women they meet tend to complicate every plan. Clients, partners, old lovers, and supposed strangers all become personal very quickly.

The tone is fast, sexy, and high-stakes. Even when the plots get twisty, the books stay focused on the push and pull between two people who are trying to stay alive and trying not to fall too hard.

If you want St Claire at her most adrenaline-driven, this is the series to pick up first. Start with Kill Me Twice and you will know almost immediately whether the mix of bodyguards, danger, and hard-earned happy endings is your thing. For a lot of readers, it is.
