Series background & context
The Blank series centers on Lincoln Delabar, usually called Linc or Blank, a young man born without a face. He has smooth skin from forehead to chin, but that is only the first difference that sets him apart. Linc experiences the world in ways other people cannot, and he has mental powers that make him both vulnerable and potentially dangerous.
He can see without eyes. He can connect with minds. Under intense emotion, he can move things with frightening force.
The first novel, Blank, is partly about growing up under that kind of pressure. Linc wants ordinary things, friends, family, a place where he can belong, but his appearance makes him an easy target for fear and cruelty. His abilities bring their own problems. He must learn whether anger can be controlled before it controls him, especially when he sees people or animals being harmed.
The series has a strong family thread. Linc's mother, sister, and other people close to him are not just background figures. Their connections to him shape how he understands privacy, trust, and responsibility. He also forms important friendships and a deep bond with Avril, whose role becomes more central as the story continues.
This is not a quiet coming-of-age story. It mixes teenage life and family trouble with violence, crime, strange powers, and moments of vigilante justice. Linc's gifts can help him protect people, but they also leave him tempted to answer cruelty with cruelty. That push and pull is at the heart of the books.
In Blank: Threads, Linc is older and still searching for someone and something he feels he has lost. The story opens his world into the idea of Threads, alternate paths or dimensions that connect lives in ways he cannot fully predict. Blank: Apocalypse raises the stakes again as Linc faces threats tied to his own identity, including a dangerous counterpart whose actions could hurt everyone Linc loves.
Blank: Home returns Linc from another Thread to a familiar world that no longer feels simple. He comes back with Savannah and Colton, determined to find Avril and make sense of what home means after everything he has seen.
Expect a blend of paranormal thriller, science fiction, family drama, and action adventure. The story is most satisfying in order, starting with Blank, because Linc's powers, relationships, and difficult choices all grow from the first book.
