Series background & context

These are not glossy penthouse billionaire romances. The hook here is that three wealthy sisters inherit a fortune with strings attached and have to spend real time in a small town, doing real work, around people who are not impressed by their money.

That gives the series its charm. Bliss, Kansas pushes the heroines out of their comfort zones, and the romances work because the books care as much about identity and family as they do about wealth. Diamonds and Dirt Roads starts the arc, followed by High Heels and Haystacks and Cashmere and Camo. Expect fake dating, boss-employee tension, friends-to-lovers energy, and a steady theme that money can solve a lot, but not loneliness, regret, or the need to belong somewhere. The blue-jeans part of the title really matters. These books want their characters to get a little dirt on their shoes and figure out who they are without the glossy version of success.
