Series background & context

Bennett Sisters is one of the clearest entry points into Kate Allenton's work. It blends paranormal romance and romantic suspense, and it stays close to one family long enough for the secrets, grudges, and loyalties to really matter.

The Bennett women are not ordinary small-town heroines. Emma, Abby, and Claire each carry gifts they have spent years trying to manage or hide, and the people who fall in love with them are pulled into that reality whether they are ready or not. Bodyguards, investigators, friends, and cops all end up learning that the Bennett family intuition is not just a figure of speech.

Safety is rarely simple in this family.

Across the series, the books deal with stalkers, attempted murder, embezzlement, revenge, and old family pain that refuses to stay buried. The romances are front and center, but they are never floating on their own. Every relationship grows inside a larger web of danger, history, and family responsibility. That is what gives the series more weight than a set of disconnected couples.

There is also an ongoing Bennett thread that runs underneath the love stories. Questions from the past, especially around family loss and unfinished justice, keep pushing into the present. So even when each book has its own main couple, the overall arc keeps building.

The tone is emotional, protective, and a little dramatic in the best romantic-suspense way. Readers can expect psychic flashes, close family bonds, determined heroines, and men who go into full guard-dog mode once they understand what is at stake.

Start with Intuition and read in order. The individual romances land better that way, and the family story grows richer with each book.
