Series background & context

The Art of Passion series follows the Bellamys, an extremely wealthy family dealing with the fallout of losing its patriarch and the pressure of the company he left behind. Rylan, Lexie, and Evan are heirs to a huge business, but money does not solve the questions that matter most to them. Each has to decide what kind of life they want and whether they can make room for real love.

The first two books center on Rylan Bellamy and Kate Reid. In Seven Nights to Surrender, Kate is an aspiring artist traveling alone in Paris in search of fresh inspiration. When she meets Rylan, an American expatriate who keeps both his fortune and his feelings closely guarded, a chance encounter becomes an intense week together. Paris matters here. Its art, food, streets, and sense of possibility give Kate space to step outside the version of herself she knows at home.

Rylan has a rule: no commitments and no complications. Kate is exactly the person who makes that rule difficult to keep.

Their story continues in Eight Ways to Ecstasy. Back in New York, Kate is trying to rebuild after their Paris romance falls apart, while Rylan cannot accept that he has lost her. He crosses an ocean and asks for one more week to prove that what happened between them was more than a holiday escape. The romance stays sensual, but its real tension comes from trust. Kate has to decide whether Rylan's feelings can survive outside the fantasy of Paris, and Rylan has to be honest enough to deserve another chance.

Nine Kinds of Naughty shifts the spotlight to Rylan's sister, Lexie Bellamy. Lexie is confident in a boardroom and deeply uncomfortable with the uncertainty of relationships. A business trip to Spain puts her in close quarters with Dane Huntley, her assistant, and changes the professional balance between them. Their connection explores control, vulnerability, and the risks involved when a boss and employee want something that cannot stay neatly contained at work.

The books are contemporary erotic romances with international settings, family-business strain, and couples who have to look past the roles they play in public. The first two volumes work best read together because they tell Kate and Rylan's continuing story. Nine Kinds of Naughty follows the same family world but gives Lexie and Dane their own central romance, so it can also work as an entry point.

Expect travel, emotional honesty, and plenty of chemistry. Beneath the luxury and heat, these are stories about people learning that power, success, and independence do not make connection any less necessary.
