In Slaying You, Amber and Grace reunite in Las Vegas for a wedding, hoping for something closer to normal. That does not last. A new killer appears to be targeting their friends, and the pair must pull their makeshift circle back together before the danger gets worse.

The series has a noir-ish, chaotic feel, but it does not treat its characters as disposable pieces in a body-count puzzle. Amber’s past, Grace’s secrets, and the loyalty that grows among their unlikely allies all matter alongside the suspense. Start with Killing Me, then continue to Slaying You. The second book works best after readers have seen how Amber and Grace first meet, why they mistrust each other, and why they keep choosing to help anyway.
