Author bio
Amanda Richardson writes romance that likes to flirt with danger. Some of her books are tender and grounded, some are dark and messy, and some go all the way into obsession, secret societies, and morally bad decisions. Across all of them, the through line is easy to spot: intense chemistry, big feelings, and heroines who don't fold when life gets cruel.
She was born in Los Angeles and now lives in Yorkshire, England. In her own author bio, she paints a very clear picture of the day-to-day setup: cold coffee nearby, too many houseplants, rain outside, and family life carrying on around her while she writes. She lives there with her husband, their two sons, and their dog, and that mix of domestic chaos and moody atmosphere feels pretty on brand for the books.
Her earlier work leans more contemporary and emotional.
Books like The Realm of You, Between the Pages, Tracing the Stars, and A Love Like That show a softer side of her catalogue. They still bring angst, secrets, and complicated people, but the focus is often on second chances, workplace tension, and the slow mess of falling for the wrong person at exactly the wrong time. A ghostwriter and a famous novelist. Two astronomers trapped together in Antarctica. A nanny and a grieving doctor. Even when the setup sounds light, Richardson usually gives it a darker pulse underneath.
Then the books got darker.
Series like Ruthless Crown, Savage Hate, and Lords of Darkness pushed her further into bully romance, why choose romance, and stories built around power, control, revenge, and dangerous loyalty. That shift helped define the version of Amanda Richardson many readers know best now. Her books often feature brooding men who make terrible first impressions, women who push back hard, and plots where desire and threat sit uncomfortably close together.
She also writes paranormal romance under K. Easton, including the Shadow Pack books and Blood & Vows. That side of her work swaps out boardrooms and private schools for wolf shifters, fated mates, and supernatural bargains, but the emotional engine is still familiar. The people want each other badly. The world keeps giving them reasons not to give in. They do it anyway.
A few newer books show how wide her range inside romance really is. Prey Tell and the wider Ravaged Castle world lean into wealthy, damaged families and kink-heavy contemporary romance. Dance with the Devil and the Midnight books bring a more psychological edge. Dirty Doctor proves she can still do a shorter, steamier setup when she wants to. She moves between subgenres a lot, but readers tend to come to her for the same things each time: tension, heat, sharp banter, and characters with a lot to hide.
She clearly likes men who are a little feral.
What makes her bibliography interesting is the mix. If you want a lighter entry point, the Love at Work books are there. If you want academy drama and revenge, there is Ruthless Royals. If you want secret England underworld politics, Darkness has you covered. And if you want werewolves, rejected mates, and pack warfare, she has that too.
These days, she seems fully settled into writing emotionally charged romance with a dark streak, from her Yorkshire home, with one foot in contemporary and the other in the twisted stuff. It suits her.
