That makes the Darkness page feel a little bigger than a standard trilogy page. It is not only one romance arc, it is the start of a whole twisted social ecosystem.

If you are new to Richardson and want her darker side, this is one of the clearest entry points. Read the core books in order, expect morally ugly people, and do not come looking for clean lines between hero and villain.
