Series background & context

Alliance Agency is the Maddie Wade series for readers who want a big team, quick banter, and cases that keep the danger moving. Co-written with India Kells, it follows a new private agency made up of operatives from different backgrounds and countries, people who have already lived a lot of hard life before the first book even begins. That mix gives the series a wide feel right away. The team works like a found family, but everyone brings their own methods, bruises, and blind spots to the job.

The world opens with Deadly Alliance, a crossover that brings agencies together for a serial killer case and sets up the tone of what comes next. Then Knight Watch starts the core series proper, with Kingsley Knight leading a rescue that turns into something much messier. From there, the books move through missing persons, stalking, gang violence, police corruption, biker trouble, and serial-killer cases, while still making room for romance in the middle of the chaos.

The team chemistry does a lot of the work here.

That matters because these books are not only about the lead couple in each installment. Hidden Obsession, Lethal Justice, Innocent Target, and Power Play all shift the focus to a different pairing, but they keep the agency front and center. Office staff, field agents, friends, and people from earlier books keep circling back in. If you enjoy romantic suspense where secondary characters feel like they could step into the lead at any moment, this series has that energy.

The tone is fast and emotional without getting too heavy all the time. There is real trauma in these stories, especially around past violence and the way old wounds can shape present choices, but Wade and Kells balance that with loyalty, competence, and a lot of team support. Even when the cases are dark, the books keep a current of warmth running underneath. People rescue each other here, sometimes literally, sometimes by offering them a place to belong.

You also get a nice variety in the romantic setups. There are second chances, forced proximity, partners who have been circling each other for ages, and wounded people learning to trust the wrong-looking person who turns out to be exactly right. The novella Until Forever keeps that feeling going by bringing back Shane and Emme for one more case just as wedding chaos hits.

If you want a series that feels international, close-knit, and easy to binge in order, Alliance Agency is a good fit. Start with Deadly Alliance if you want the full setup, or Knight Watch if you want to jump straight into the agency itself.
