The second book leans harder into separation and second chances. Prison, heartbreak, new relationships, and the return of old feelings all push Layla into a different kind of conflict. It is less about first attraction by that point and more about whether people can outgrow the versions of themselves that hurt each other the first time.

This is not a soft romance world.
