A research accident releases strange energy through a wormhole, transforming wildlife and killing laboratory workers. Maintenance worker Max escapes with a friend, only to discover that an artificial intelligence is spreading the changes beyond the facility.

Max expands a protected settlement as mana spreads across Earth and mutated creatures multiply. While newcomers breach the quarantine, Prometheus forces the wormhole wider, making scavenging expeditions increasingly dangerous as human survivors become another threat.
