Series background & context

Window to the Heart Saga is Jenna Brandt's first historical romance series, beginning with The English Proposal. It follows Lady Margaret and the family and friends whose lives change through love, loss, travel, and the choice to begin again when a familiar future closes.

The early books move through English society and into France, where Lady Margaret faces danger while searching for her long-lost brother. Later stories shift toward America and the Oregon frontier, expanding the series from drawing rooms and titles to bakeries, churches, saloons, and communities being built at the end of a long journey.

One closed door can lead somewhere else.

The books share a faith-centered belief that painful changes do not have to be the final chapter. Characters face grief, social expectations, money trouble, family separation, and the awkward adjustments of new marriages. Romance is important, but so is the work of creating a life that feels honest.

The saga is best read in order because relationships and family connections develop across the sequence. The English Proposal, The French Encounter, and The American Conquest form the heart of Lady Margaret's journey, while later titles follow people in her wider world.

Expect clean historical romance, changing settings, emotional recovery, and characters who learn to choose hope without denying the difficulty of the road behind them.
