Wicked Women Books in Order

The Wicked Women books move Eliza Knight out of Scotland and into the American West, but the appeal is familiar. These are romances about tough women, dangerous men, and situations that look impossible until the couple decides to stop fighting each other and face the problem together.

The setting does a lot of the work. Saloons, dusty towns, ranches, hired guns, and hard travel through the desert give the books a rougher, hotter feel than Knight's Highland stories. The heroines are not shrinking violets either. One wants revenge and a new life. One runs a saloon and knows exactly how harsh her world is. One is a ranch woman with a temper and a very firm idea of how much nonsense she will tolerate.

Which, naturally, is not very much.

Her Desperate Gamble, Seducing the Sheriff, and Kiss Me, Cowboy all hinge on the same good tension: the heroine needs help, but she is not eager to hand over control, and the hero quickly learns that desire is the easy part. Survival, trust, and a future worth fighting for are much harder. Knight uses revenge plots, murder trouble, property problems, and dangerous journeys to keep the romances moving.

If you want frontier romance with strong-willed women and a little grit under the heat, this series is worth a look. It is fast, direct, and happy to let its heroines be difficult in the best possible way.
