Distinguished Scots is Eliza Knight in Scottish Regency mode, and the pitch is easy to love. Think English country-house pressures, inheritance trouble, and marriage-market headaches, but with Scottish heroes who do not always fit neatly into polite society.

The series openly plays with a Jane Austen kind of setup. In A Scot's Pride, a Scottish lord goes bride hunting in England and finds a heroine with family problems of her own and very little patience for nonsense. A Dash of Scot keeps that same cross-current of English gentility and Highland bluntness, with old attraction, bad timing, and a hero trapped by an ill-advised bargain. The Scot's Perfect Match continues the run of romantic misfires, social pressure, and pairs that look awkward on paper until they stop pretending paper matters.

Pride and practicality do a lot of the work here.

These books are less about open warfare and more about emotional sparring. Entails, expectations, dowries, family dependence, and reputation replace swords and sieges, but the core pleasure is still the same. Two strong people meet at the wrong moment, resist each other badly, and then discover that their best future might be the one neither planned.

If you want Scottish historical romance with a Regency flavor, this is a very approachable series. It keeps the Highland edge, but filters it through drawing rooms, awkward proposals, and heroines clever enough to see through a titled man's performance.
