War with No Name Books in Order

The War With No Name is a science-fiction series set in a world remade by an uprising of animals against humanity. Behind the revolt is the Colony, a hidden civilization of intelligent ants that uses a strange technology to transform surface animals into self-aware, humanlike beings. The result is not a simple animal adventure. It is a violent, unsettled story about war, power, faith, and what happens after old roles disappear.

The series opens with Mort(e). Its central figure is a former housecat who has become a hardened soldier in the animals' war against humans. Known as Mort(e), he has a reputation for surviving dangerous missions, but his private goal is more personal: finding Sheba, the dog he knew before the world changed. His search takes him through a conflict in which every side claims to be fighting for a better future.

Culdesac shifts the focus to a bobcat assassin and the Red Sphinx, an elite feline unit serving the Colony. Sent to hold the remote town of Milton, Culdesac finds that conquest is harder than it looks. The novella offers a closer view of the war's cruelty and the beliefs that keep its fighters moving forward.

By D'Arc, the open war has ended, but peace between humans and uplifted animals remains fragile. Mort(e) and Sheba are drawn back toward the troubled city of Hosanna, where violence, fear, and competing visions of the future threaten the new order. The series expands from battlefield survival into the difficult work of living alongside former enemies.

Peace is never automatic here.

Malefactor brings the larger conflict toward its final test. Hosanna's joint human-and-animal government faces pressure from outside forces and from people who would rather return to old cycles of violence. Mort(e), Sheba, D'Arc, and other survivors confront dangers that show how much unfinished business the war has left behind.

Across the books, Repino gives animals the emotions, contradictions, and political problems usually reserved for human characters. The tone is dark, strange, and often intense, but the series keeps coming back to companionship and the chance to choose something better than revenge.
