Series background & context
Unholy Trifecta is a criminal-romance series that treats found family like the real heart of the operation. The books start with thieves, assassins, hackers, and mercenaries who are all very good at what they do, then steadily show how love, loyalty, and one adopted child can turn a crew into something much more permanent.
Each book follows a different couple, but the group stays connected. How to Shield an Assassin brings Ari, Carter, and Remi into focus. How to Steal a Thief and How to Hack a Hacker widen the circle while keeping the same mix of caper plotting, protection instinct, and emotional repair. The jobs matter, but the people matter more.
What keeps the series fun is the tone. There are real threats and violent skills in the background, but the books are much warmer than grim. Heists, bodyguard work, and mob trouble all exist, yet the strongest thread is always the strange, loving household these men build together.
If you like romantic suspense with criminals who are better at love than they expected, this trilogy is a very satisfying mess.
