Undercover Operatives Books in Order

Undercover Operatives mixes holiday sparkle with covert work and small-town trouble. These books are romantic suspense at a brisk, category pace, with agents and investigations on one side and attraction, old ties, and personal secrets on the other.

The series title tells you what matters. Somebody is hiding something, usually more than one somebody. Weber uses undercover work not just for plot mechanics, but to push on identity. Her heroes and heroines are often balancing the person they need to be for the case against the person they really are when the walls come down.

Secrets do not stay tidy for long.

The run begins with Sex, Lies and Mistletoe, where an undercover DEA agent returns home and finds that the case is tangled up with family history, small-town loyalties, and a woman he cannot ignore. Sex, Lies and Midnight and Sex, Lies and Valentines carry the same general promise, strong chemistry, covert stakes, and holiday framing that gives the books a little extra fun even when things get dangerous.

These are shorter, hotter suspense reads rather than slow-burn mysteries. The investigation matters, but the series is really powered by divided loyalties and the question of trust. Can you fall for someone when you are keeping part of your life hidden, or when you suspect they are doing the same? Weber gets a lot of mileage out of that tension.

If you like romantic suspense that is sexy, seasonal, and easy to race through, Undercover Operatives is a nice fit. Read in order for the cleanest flow, but the books are also approachable one by one if you mostly want covert intrigue with a holiday edge.
