Under My Skin takes place in Dallas, Texas, around the fictional Sin & Ink tattoo shop. It is a found-family contemporary romance series, built around tattoo artists, the people who work beside them, and the people they let into their lives. The shop is more than a backdrop. Zack's background as an Army Ranger and police officer gives the story a protective edge, while Mia's place in the tattoo-shop world keeps it rooted in the series' central community.

In Tattooed Heart, shop owner Bull gets a second chance with Tarah, the best friend he once loved from a distance. Their history is tangled, and Bull's health scare makes him question how much longer he can keep refusing the life he wants. Tarah has responsibilities of her own, including her son, so their reunion has to make room for the past as well as the future.

Dandelion Wishes follows Mason, a tattoo artist newly committed to sobriety, and Sophie, who struggles with an eating disorder and a deep feeling that she is never enough. Their relationship is tender, but it is not presented as a cure. Both characters have their own work to do, and the story keeps the focus on recovery, support, and taking help when it is offered.

The tone is warm, steamy, and often emotional. Tattoos and piercings are part of the setting, but the bigger thread is chosen family: people who tease one another, show up in a crisis, and make room for flawed friends. Each book centers on a different couple, though reading from Skin to Skin onward gives the fullest view of Sin & Ink and the people who make it feel like home.
