The Twist of Fate books are co-written by Sloane Kennedy and Lucy Lennox and built around a simple idea: one unexpected moment can turn a life completely sideways. Each novel follows a different couple in a loosely connected universe, and you can read them on their own or in order.

Above and Beyond focuses on Lucky, a college student and aspiring high risk search and rescue tech, and Zach, the older former Army Ranger he once humiliated himself in front of by confessing a crush. When Lucky’s dads send Zach to check on him and escalating threats follow them into rugged mountain terrain, the two men are forced to decide whether they will keep pretending their feelings are one sided.
