True Calling Books in Order

True Calling is Siobhan Davis's original dystopian science fiction series, the version of the story that later reappeared in revised form as Broken World. If you are curious about where that later series began, this is the foundation. The core setup is classic high-stakes dystopian romance, but Davis gives it a strong emotional center.

The heroine is Ariana Skyee. She lives on Planet Novo, a place that presents itself as a better future until the government launches The Calling, a matchmaking pageant that pairs seventeen-year-olds for marriage and repopulation. Ariana is already unsettled by the system, and things get more complicated when dreams and fragments of memory keep pointing toward a boy named Zane, someone she should not even remember because her world runs on official memory erasure.

Then Cal Remus enters the picture.

That gives the series its romantic and emotional engine. Ariana is pulled between official expectations, missing memories, and the growing realization that the world around her has been built on lies. The books widen from a controlled social system and a suspicious pageant into a larger fight about truth, freedom, and who gets to decide the future of an entire population.

The original sequence, True Calling, Beyond Reach, Light Of A Thousand Stars, and Destiny Rising, follows that escalation. What begins as confusion and hidden attraction becomes rebellion, war, and painful choices that affect more than one world. The short story collection adds bonus material once the main arc is done.

Because this is the earlier version of a story Davis later revisited, some readers come to True Calling as a curiosity after reading Broken World. That works fine. Others prefer to start here and see the original form first. Either way, the appeal is the same, a heroine trying to recover the truth about herself while two very different boys and a brutal political system pull her in opposite directions.
