Broken World Books in Order

Broken World is the revised and retitled version of Siobhan Davis's earlier True Calling story. The heart of the narrative is the same, a young woman caught between buried memory, political control, and impossible romantic choices, but this edition presents the material as a tighter modern science fiction romance trilogy with companion novellas.

The series centers on Ariana, often called Ari, in a future shaped by government control and engineered forgetting. She knows something is wrong long before she understands the full scale of it. Dreams, memory gaps, and conflicting loyalties keep pushing at her, and the more she learns, the harder it becomes to tell who is protecting her and who is simply using her.

That uncertainty is the point.

Ruptured opens with Ari trying to survive a system that has already taken too much from her. Cal matters immediately, Zane haunts the edges of her mind, and the truth about her father and the people around her becomes impossible to ignore. Revealed shifts the conflict back to Earth and into open struggle with rebels, government forces, and the secrets everyone wants from Ari. Ravage and Risen deepen the fallout, especially the emotional cost of everything Ari is being forced to remember, choose, and sacrifice.

Compared with the older version, this series feels sharper in presentation, but it is still very much a Siobhan Davis story. Love triangles matter. Memory matters. The system is cruel. The heroine gets cornered again and again, then keeps moving anyway. There is a big speculative backdrop, but the books still live or die on emotion first.

The companion pieces help too. The shorter installments let the story breathe around the main plot and give more context to the people closest to Ari, especially Cal. That makes the world feel less like a straight line of revelations and more like a fully lived-in conflict where everyone is paying a price.

If you want dystopian and science fiction romance with hidden truths, rebel pressure, psychic or memory-driven mystery, and a heroine standing in the middle of competing futures, Broken World is an easy series to try. It is one of the clearest examples of Davis blending romance with larger world stakes.
