Too Secret Service Books in Order

Too Secret Service is a three-part espionage thriller by Declan Finn, featuring Secret Service agent Wayne Williams and CIA operative Catherine Miller. Both are highly trained. Both are used to working alone. Neither is especially pleased to discover that the other is on the same mission.

Williams has been pushed into an out-of-the-way assignment after making powerful people uncomfortable. Miller is an assassin whose employers call when they want a target removed without leaving much behind. When the President faces a threat that crosses borders and involves missing nuclear weapons, both agents are pulled back into the center of events.

They are good at the job. Getting along is another matter.

The series follows their attempt to stop terrorists from attacking the President's international trip. The danger takes them from Ireland to Rome to Israel, where they face armed extremists, professional killers, bureaucratic interference, and the possibility that the people giving orders may not be entirely trustworthy.

The three installments work as parts of one larger story rather than separate cases. The tension comes from the countdown around the weapons, the travel-heavy pursuit, and the uneasy partnership between two people who have their own methods and their own secrets. Williams brings Secret Service discipline and a polished public-facing presence. Miller brings CIA tradecraft and a colder practical streak.

The tone is brisk and pulpy, with chases, assassinations, international intrigue, and sharp exchanges between the leads. It also connects loosely to Finn's wider fictional world through characters and ideas seen elsewhere, but newcomers can follow the core mission without prior reading.
