Series background & context

The To Have and To Hold duet asks what happens when a cartel princess is rescued by the devil she has been taught to fear. Across With this Ring, I Thee Take, and the connected novella Stolen: Dante’s Vow, Natasha Knight builds a story about revenge, protection, and a marriage that is part cage, part sanctuary.

In With this Ring, Scarlett De La Cruz is essentially a prisoner in her own home, guarded by soldiers and treated like a piece on the board in her brothers’ criminal games. Cristiano Grigori storms that fortress, kills the men standing between them, and puts his ring on her finger. He marks her as mafia property, his property, with a very clear agenda: use her to flush out the enemies who tried to wipe out his family.

Scarlett wants nothing to do with him. Cristiano is the villain in every story she has ever heard, and their marriage is an arrangement built on lies and blood. Yet as they are forced to live together, she begins to see the way he shoulders responsibility, the way he protects people he could have written off as collateral damage. The first book is heavy on forced proximity, clashing wills, and the uneasy safety Scarlett finds in the bed of a man she is not sure she can trust.

I Thee Take continues their arc as external threats multiply and the true scope of betrayal around both their families comes to light. Scarlett has to decide whether to stand with Cristiano or cling to the version of her past she thought she understood. Cristiano, in turn, has to admit that his need for payback may destroy the one person he has come to care about most.

Stolen: Dante’s Vow spins off to tell the story of Cristiano’s brother, Dante, and the girl he failed to save. It is a darker rescue fantasy featuring trafficking, scars, and a vow that refuses to die. While the novella can be read on its own, it carries more weight if you already know the Grigori family from the main duet.

Together, these books offer a full view of a mafia clan that lives by ruthless rules but still makes room for fierce, possessive love. If you like wedding vows twisted into weapons, this is the series to choose.
