Series background & context

The This Is series is a spin-off from Something So and zeroes in on the Stone family, a multi-generation hockey dynasty. If you love interconnected stories where siblings, cousins, and teammates all share the ice—and the dinner table—this is where those threads come together.

This Is Crazy stars Zara Stone, hockey royalty by birth who has sworn never to date a player. Her father, brother, and brother-in-law have all lived the highs and lows of the league, and she wants something quieter. When her academic boyfriend breaks up with her and is engaged three months later, rage and heartbreak lead her to do something wild: tweet star forward Evan Richards and ask him to crash her ex’s wedding. What begins as a petty stunt quickly turns into a connection neither of them planned on.

In This Is Wild, Zoe grows up surrounded by the sport without ever really understanding it. She’s too busy building a real-estate career to keep track of penalties and power plays. Viktor, drafted third overall and blessed with all the talent and bad decisions that come with early fame, crashes hard and ends up in rehab before being traded. Their relationship starts as realtor and client, shifts to friendship, and slowly becomes the one thing Viktor isn’t supposed to risk during recovery.

This Is Love pairs Vivienne, who has one strict rule about never falling in love again, with Mark, the quietly intense man everyone calls "Private" for a reason. What was meant to be a one-night stand stretches into something neither is willing to name out loud. While Vivienne tells herself it’s temporary, Mark is all in and has to convince her that protecting her heart doesn’t mean locking it away.

This Is Forever brings Justin Stone, son and brother of hockey legends, together with Caroline, a single mom who has been doing everything she can to support her hockey-obsessed son. A summer camp for underprivileged kids throws them together. Justin sees a chance to step out of his family’s shadow and build something of his own; Caroline sees every red flag in dating a player. The book digs into class differences, family expectations, and what it means to choose your own path.

Throughout the series you’ll see cameos from earlier couples, sprawling family gatherings, locker-room pranks, and a deep sense of history. The tone balances humor and heartache, showing characters who grew up with fame learning how to define success and love for themselves. Reading in order heightens the impact, but each book can stand alone as its own full romance.
