Series background & context

The Wolf Hotel Mermaid Beach is K. A. Tucker's contemporary romance spin-off about Ronan Lyle and Sloane Parker. Ronan arrives in Florida with a new job and a firm intention to stop pursuing women who are unavailable or complicated. Sloane immediately tests that resolution. She is determined to oppose the new Wolf Hotel, while he has been hired to help manage it. Their attraction places him between a promising professional future and a woman whose interests appear directly opposed to his employer's.

Release Me introduces Ronan as the hotel's Director of Facilities, a title that gives him responsibilities beyond the casual life he has been leading. Heartbreak and a history of seeking distraction through sex have left him ready for a different approach, at least in theory. The new position could give him direction. Becoming involved with Sloane risks undermining that opportunity before he has fully established himself, especially because her opposition to the hotel is active and personal rather than a distant disagreement.

Mermaid Beach offers a new beginning, but no clean division between work and private life.

The Florida setting places a luxury development alongside people who already have their own lives and attachments there. Sloane's resistance means Ronan cannot treat the property simply as a workplace where his task is to solve practical problems. The person causing difficulty for the hotel is also the person he wants to know more closely. That tension makes the relationship more than a matter of overcoming a first impression. Any decision he makes about helping her may also be a decision about his loyalty to the job.

Save Me continues the same couple's story, with Ronan's desire to protect Sloane bringing him into further conflict involving billionaire hotel owner Henry Wolf. His growing sense of purpose comes from a commitment that could cost him the future he came to Florida to build. The romance therefore develops through choices with practical consequences. Caring for someone is no longer just an escape from disappointment; it means considering what he is prepared to lose and what kind of life he wants to claim as his own.

Read Release Me before Save Me, which forms the second half of Ronan and Sloane's story. The books are intended for adults and include explicit sexual content and strong language. Readers of the original Wolf Hotel books will find a familiar world viewed through Ronan's circumstances, while this sequence focuses on his relationship and new responsibilities. Its central question is how someone who has been drifting can find direction when love and the opportunity for a career ask him to move in different directions.
