This is a lighter, more openly rom-com-leaning series, but the characters still face meaningful pressure. Dane must confront the consequences of becoming a duke. Dex must untangle protection from control. Sandrine and Ana both want larger lives than the ones others have planned for them.

Expect secrets, mistaken assumptions, strong-willed heroines, and men learning that status does not make every decision for them. The stories use familiar romantic-comedy energy while keeping the emotional stakes close to the characters' families, futures, and sense of self.
