The Swoop List Books in Order

The idea behind The Swoop List is brutal and sadly believable. A group of high school girls are publicly labeled as fast and easy through an anonymous list meant to shame them. From that moment on, rumor, bullying, and humiliation start shaping their days.

What makes the series interesting is that it does not stay with just one girl. Sanaa, Willow, Olive, Octavia, and Pia all get pulled into the fallout, and each one brings her own history, personality, and weakness into the story. That gives the books a wider emotional range than a single-point-of-view series might have.

Moore uses the setup to talk about more than gossip. These books are about identity, reputation, anger, grief, faith, family mess, and the way teenage girls are often forced to carry shame that does not belong to them. The list is the spark, but the deeper story is about what happens when the girls decide not to let it define them.

Friendship is the real engine. The girls do not begin as a tidy, supportive unit. They have differences, grudges, and reasons not to trust one another. Watching them slowly become a source of strength for each other is where a lot of the series' heart comes from.

The tone is dramatic, current, and easy to move through. Readers who want high school fiction that deals directly with rumor culture and public shaming, but still makes room for growth and solidarity, will probably find The Swoop List one of Moore's most pointed and memorable series.
