The Scarlet Veil Books in Order

The Scarlet Veil duology returns to the world of the Serpent & Dove books, but follows Célie Tremblay instead of Lou and Reid. Célie has joined the Chasseurs as their first huntswoman, and she wants to prove that she belongs in a role long reserved for men. She is capable, determined, and tired of being treated as though she needs protecting.

She is not interested in staying on the sidelines.

The first book, The Scarlet Veil, takes place in Belterra after the earlier trilogy. Célie's fiancé, Jean Luc, is captain of the Chasseurs, which makes her position even more complicated. She is trying to find her footing in the order while wrestling with painful memories and the pressure to meet everyone else's idea of strength. When a violent new threat begins to surface, Célie follows the mystery into a part of the world she never expected to see.

That path leads to Requiem, a hidden island populated by supernatural beings and ruled by the vampire king Michal. Célie and Michal begin as dangerous, reluctant opponents. Their connection becomes one of the central tensions of the duology, alongside Célie's need to make her own choices about duty, fear, and who she wants to be. This is a vampire romance, but it also asks what it costs to survive in a world that keeps trying to define you.

The shadows are getting crowded.

In The Shadow Bride, Célie faces the consequences of the first book's events as the balance between life and death begins to fail. Revenants rise, an old evil turns its attention toward her, and Célie and Michal must work together despite all the reasons they might not trust one another. The series keeps its focus on their charged relationship while widening the danger to include Célie's family, friends, and the future of their world.

Expect Gothic atmosphere, vampire politics, supernatural mysteries, and a romance that moves through danger rather than away from it. Célie is driven by a need to be taken seriously, but the books also make room for her uncertainty, anger, and growing independence. Michal brings a colder, more guarded counterweight, so their scenes tend to carry both attraction and threat.

These books are best read after the Serpent & Dove trilogy. They introduce a new lead and story line, but their setting, relationships, and history build on the events of the earlier Belterra novels.
