The Salinger Brothers Books in Order

The Salinger Brothers series shifts Carrie Elks into a glossier, more urban mode. These books are contemporary romances built around a wealthy, high-achieving family, but they are less about luxury for its own sake and more about what happens when very controlled people lose their grip. Offices, boardrooms, hockey arenas, expensive apartments, destination weddings, and even a tropical island all make appearances here.

At the center are the Salingers, successful, polished, and often a little too sure they know how life should work. The fun comes from watching that confidence fall apart. In Strictly Business, workplace enemies are forced into close quarters while one half of the pair is keeping a huge personal plan secret. Strictly Pleasure turns a one-night stand into a much messier arrangement when two reluctant adults discover they are tied together as godparents.

The later books keep widening the world. Strictly For Now brings in hockey and a battle over the future of a team. Strictly Not Yours peels back the neat exterior of a doctor with a secret life. Strictly The Worst leans into office rivalry and forced proximity on an island trip, while Strictly Pretend adds fake dating and a bookstore under threat.

These books like banter.

They also like tension built from class differences, job pressure, family expectations, and people who are absolutely certain they should not want each other. The Salingers may be rich, but they are not especially calm, and that is part of the appeal. Elks gives each story a romantic comedy spark, then layers in just enough vulnerability to make the relationships feel earned.

If Angel Sands is breezy and beachy, The Salinger Brothers is sharper around the edges. It is still warm, still romantic, and still very character-driven, but the mood is more fast-talking and high-pressure. Readers who enjoy enemies to lovers, fake relationships, big careers, and people falling hard while pretending they are too sensible for that sort of thing will probably click with this series quickly.
