The overall mood is gritty, sexy, and intense, with a lot of emotional damage under the surface. It is one of the clearest examples of Davis writing at full dark-romance volume, but she still keeps the characters human enough that the chaos lands emotionally instead of just theatrically. If you like dangerous-boy energy, group dynamics, and a heroine who can stare down the storm, this series delivers.
