Saven Books in Order

Saven is one of Siobhan Davis's earlier science fiction romance series, and it has a little bit of everything, alien politics, hidden identities, class conflict, destiny, and a romance that keeps getting more complicated the bigger the truth becomes. It starts with Sadie Owens, a young woman who joins a government-run undersea residency program and expects a fresh start. Instead, she walks into a mystery that reaches far beyond Earth.

The first big hook is Logan. Sadie is drawn to him immediately, but he is carrying secrets tied to the Saven, an alien species already living among humans under fragile terms. Once Sadie gets pulled into their orbit, the series starts widening fast. What seemed like attraction and confusion becomes a full political and moral struggle involving experiments, hidden agendas, and a future neither side is really ready for.

Sadie is at the center of all of it.

That matters because the series is not just about watching a heroine react to discoveries. Sadie keeps being forced to make choices, often ugly ones, and those choices affect entire populations. As the books move from Saven Deception through Saven Disclosure, Saven Denial, and Saven Defiance, the story gets bigger and more dangerous. Questions of who gets to rule, who gets sacrificed, and what peace would even look like become harder to avoid.

The romantic side is equally messy. Logan is hugely important, but he is not the only person tied to Sadie's fate. Axton becomes a major emotional and political complication, and the side novella Axton shows how high the stakes have become from his point of view. By Saven Deliverance, the series is deep into war, sacrifice, and impossible choices.

The tone is more adventurous than Davis's contemporary romance, but the emotional style is familiar. There are cliffhangers, reversals, painful choices, and a lot of heart pulled between love and duty. The world has underwater cities, alien royalty, and secret laboratories, yet the core tension is still deeply personal, who do you trust, what do you owe your people, and how much of yourself can you give away before there is nothing left.

If you like romance with a proper speculative plot wrapped around it, Saven is a strong place to go. It is dramatic, fast-moving, and full of the kind of high-emotion decision making that Davis readers tend to enjoy, just with spaceships and alien politics added to the mix.
