The Rakes of Cavendish Square is a later historical series that picks up with younger members of the Byron family, so it feels both fresh and pleasantly familiar. If The Byrons of Braebourne is the big family saga, this trilogy is the next chapter, with Leo, Esme, and Lawrence Byron stepping into the spotlight in a Regency London where charm, scandal, and reputation still do plenty of damage.

In The Bedding Proposal, Lord Leo Byron turns his restless attention to Lady Thalia Lennox, a divorced woman who has every reason to distrust charming men. Happily Bedded Bliss gives Esme Byron a memorably awkward start to romance when a private sketch of a naked stranger leads to a very public scandal and a forced marriage to Gabriel, Lord Northcote. In Bedchamber Games, Lawrence Byron meets his match in Rosamund Carrow, a barrister's daughter who disguises herself as a man so she can finish her late father's legal work.

The Byron chaos is still here, only smarter and a little sharper.

What makes this trilogy stand out is the way Warren pushes beyond standard ballroom problems without leaving the pleasures of historical romance behind. A divorced heroine, a marriage created by a misunderstanding, and a heroine secretly practicing law all bring different pressures to the page. The books still have wit, flirtation, and heat, but they also lean into questions of independence, public judgment, and what happens when society has no comfortable place for the person a woman wants to be.

Setting matters here too. Cavendish Square is not just a pretty address. It suggests a tight world of town houses, calls, dinner parties, drawing rooms, and constant observation. Then Warren expands that world with country scenes, legal circles, and the working side of London life. Lawrence's book especially brings the courts into focus, which gives the trilogy a slightly different energy from the earlier Byron novels.

Family remains part of the appeal. The older Byron siblings are not forgotten, and the younger ones feel shaped by the same loud, loyal, meddling clan. That continuity makes the books rewarding for longtime Byron readers, but the romances are clear enough that newcomers can still jump in.

If you like historical romance with banter, layered social complications, and heroines who are doing more than waiting to be chosen, this is a strong trilogy. Reading in order helps, especially because the sibling dynamic grows richer from book to book, but each story has its own distinct premise and payoff.
