Series background & context

The Pierce Family books are contemporary billionaire romances set around a wealthy New York clan that looks polished from the outside and badly bruised on the inside. Money matters here, but grief matters more. The series opens after a devastating loss, and that loss hangs over the brothers, their half-sister, and the people pulled into their orbit.

At the center are the Pierce siblings, especially Adam, Liam, Simon, and their younger half-sister Opal. They run a tech empire, live in penthouses, travel in expensive cars, and know how to manage appearances. What they do not know, at least not at first, is how to move through heartbreak without turning cold, reckless, or controlling.

That tension gives the series its shape. One book leans into a Beauty and the Beast style fake marriage in Broken Beast. Another goes for banter, fake engagement, and office sparks in Playboy Prince. Ruthless Rival digs into old competition and long-buried want. Tempting Teacher shifts toward Opal and brings in a riskier, more intimate professor-student setup.

New York matters here. These stories use wealth, status, and family expectation as real pressure, not just shiny wallpaper. Boardrooms, charity events, gallery spaces, private apartments, and elite schools all become places where the characters have to decide whether they are performing a version of themselves or finally telling the truth.

Even at its most glamorous, this series is really about people learning how to live after loss. The Pierces are protective to a fault. They keep secrets. They make bargains. They confuse control with safety. The women who fall for them are usually too sharp to let that stand for long.

If you want billionaire romance with strong family ties, grief running under the surface, and a lot of emotional push and pull, this is the lane. The books are connected enough that reading in order helps, but each romance has its own couple, its own payoff, and its own flavor.
