Series background & context

The Overnight Billionaires is Katie Lane in a much glossier mode. Instead of dusty ranch roads and small Texas towns, this series follows the Beaumont brothers after a sudden leap into extreme wealth. They are rich almost before they can fully figure out what that means, and Lane gets a lot of mileage out of the contrast between money, image, and the emotional mess each brother is still carrying around.

The setting is more corporate and upscale than most of her western romances. Private jets, luxury lifestyles, and the lingerie company French Kiss all help define the world. But for all the glamour, the books still run on familiar Lane themes, prickly attraction, wounded heroes, women who push back, and people learning that sex appeal does not fix loneliness.

The money is flashy. The emotional mess is not.

Each book focuses on a different Beaumont brother. A Billionaire Between the Sheets puts Deacon into a power struggle with Olivia inside French Kiss. A Billionaire After Dark turns Nash's carefully hidden secrets into the center of a risky romance with reporter Eden. Waking Up with a Billionaire follows artist Grayson, whose stalled creativity and carefully managed persona start to crack when Chloe steps into his world. Together, the three books give the series a clear shape without requiring a lot of outside setup.

These are the sexier, more urban books in Lane's catalog, and that shift in setting changes the rhythm. The jokes are still there, but the fantasy is more about wealth, status, and high-voltage chemistry than about town gossip or ranch life. If you like workplace power plays, glamorous backdrops, and brothers whose money has not solved nearly as much as they think it has, this series hits that lane well.

You can read any of the books on its own, but starting with A Billionaire Between the Sheets makes the most sense because it lays out the brothers' world and the sudden-money premise. From there, the fun is in watching each Beaumont fall in a slightly different way. Strip away the designer labels and the billions, and these are still character-driven romances about people who need honesty more than they need another luxury toy.
