Flirting with Texas and A Match Made in Texas push the world outward without losing the Bramble feel, bringing in New York adventures, family feuds, stubborn sheriffs, and women who are very tired of being told what to do. By the time you get to The Last Cowboy in Texas and the later bonus story My Big Fat Texas Wedding, the place feels lived in, messy, and oddly homey.

The tone stays funny and sexy, but there is more heart here than the wild setups might suggest. Many of the characters are carrying old disappointments, family secrets, grief, or a sense that life did not turn out the way they expected. Lane balances that with lots of energy, blunt flirtation, and townsfolk who are always ready to offer help nobody asked for.

If you like interconnected romances where the setting matters as much as the love story, this series is easy to sink into. Start with Going Cowboy Crazy and keep moving in order if you can. The books work alone, but Bramble gets richer the longer you stay, and the running jokes, family callbacks, and background characters all land better when you watch the town grow book by book.
