Series background & context

The Marakaios Brides is a linked duet about a wealthy Greek family where marriage, legacy, and children are never just private matters. Hewitt uses the Marakaios name to build that classic high-pressure romance setup, where family expectation keeps intruding on the couple.

The first book follows a husband and wife forced back into each other's orbit after separation. The second turns to baby stakes and the question of what happens when a supposedly settled arrangement starts to break open emotionally. In both stories, the glamour matters less than the push and pull between duty and real feeling.

If you like Greek family romances with second chances, marriage strain, and strong emotional reversals, this is a neat two-book arc to read in order.
