The world opens with Fausto and Francesca in Mafia Mistress and Mafia Darling. Francesca is taken to Italy for a marriage arrangement, only to get pulled toward Fausto, the older king at the center of the empire rather than the son she was meant for. Mafia Virgin returns to arranged marriage, pairing Emma and Giacomo in a union meant to keep peace between families and stop a broader war. Different couples, same pressure cooker.

Italy matters here as more than scenery. Sicily feels old, territorial, and tightly wound. Milan brings a flashier, more modern energy. But in both places, the rules are the same: family comes first, weakness gets noticed fast, and private choices rarely stay private.
