The Death Whisperer Books in Order

The Death Whisperer centers on a heroine whose gift has never felt like a blessing. Kassandra was born under the shadow of death, and her power cuts both ways. One hand heals. The other destroys. The setting is a fae world broken into competing kingdoms, and the princes who move through it are not gentle men waiting to rescue her. The series gets a lot of tension from that dynamic. Kassandra has to decide who wants to use her, who wants to own her, and who might actually be capable of loving her without breaking her further.

The ongoing plot is built around court politics, power imbalance, prophecy, and the expanding reach of Kassandra's abilities. The more she learns, the clearer it becomes that she is central to much larger conflicts between the kingdoms. That makes the romance feel inseparable from the worldbuilding. The princes do not just matter because of attraction. They matter because each one is tied to a crown, a scheme, or a threat.

The tone is slower and moodier than some of Katie May's more comedic series. There is still tension and banter, but The Death Whisperer leans into ache, obsession, and the long process of a heroine reclaiming her own worth.

If you like fae court stories with a cursed heroine, morally grey princes, and a lot of emotional pressure, this series is one of Katie May's more brooding reads.
